PARENT INFO

Becoming an Approved Driver

Take the driving test. See information regarding driving test on next page. Be sure to e-mail proof of passing test to jill.mickels@washk12.org
Also e-mail Jill Mickels the following documents:
Copy of current car insurance card
Copy of driver’s license
Make, model, and VIN # of any car you will be driving students in
Please be sure to send Jill updates when car insurance or license expires.
Fill out Volunteer Orientation and Agreement. Give to Danielle (tonight if possible) to have signed by The principal.  She will send it home for you to take to the District Office.
Set up an appointment at Washington County School District to have your fingerprints taken for a background check (required for all parents to have unsupervised access to students when driving). To schedule this appointment go to: https://wcsdfingerprints.youcanbook.me/ You must take your Volunteer Orientation and Agreement with proper signatures to this appointment. This fingerprinting costs $45

*Please complete these steps as soon as possible. We will need parent drivers for camp next month and this process does take some time, especially at the end of school/beginning of summer when the district office is busy processing new hires.

Driving Test Instructions

If an individual is acting in an official capacity for the school district by transporting students to or from school events, regardless of whether or not they are in their personal vehicle, then they must watch the State Driver video and take the test at the following site:

https://utah-riskpool.sabacloud.com/Saba/Web_wdk/NA1PRD0101/index/prelogin.rdf

Create a username and password if you’re a first time user, or log in to take video.

Both the video and the test are free of charge, and is good for 2 years. By watching the video and completing the test, the individual becomes covered by USRM in the event of an accident. The state's insurance would cover the fees that exceed beyond the caps of the driver's personal insurance. The video and test take no more than 30-45 minutes to complete.  Please submit your results via e-mail to jill.mickels@washk12.org. Save a copy of your results in your e-mail just in case she doesn’t receive it, then you can resend it.

If you will be transporting students you will need to provide the following to the school to keep on file:
Volunteer form
Copies of:
-Drivers License
-Insurance card
-VIN # of your vehicle
